Motorola w220

£19.95
Buy Now | Add to Compare
FREE ON A PAY MONTHLY PLAN
The Motorola W220 Black mobile phone has been created for people who want style without spending a fortune. But the W220 is no charity shop cast-off. Although it's not packed with dozens of features, it definitely has an attractive contemporary design.

This flip-open phone shares its styling with the company's RAZR handset. With a weight of under 100g and a depth of less than 17mm, the W220 will certainly enjoy plenty of admiring looks. There are even three colourful icons outside to help you keep an eye on missed calls, incoming messages and battery status. Mind you, with a battery that offers up to 8 hours of non-stop talk without recharging, you may not need to check it very often!

Open the Motorola W220 Black and you'll find a colour screen that'll handle texts, picture messages and the mobile internet. Ringtones and wallpaper images can be customised - and there's also a built-in ringtone composer. In addition there's a calculator, a calendar, a currency converter and an alarm clock.

There isn't a camera on the W220 but there is an FM radio that'll either work through the phone's own loudspeaker or via optional stereo headphones. Altogether it means the Motorola W220 Black is an excellent budget choice for anyone who's after a good-looking mobile phone.

Motorola V3 RAZR Black

£39.95

FREE ON A PAY MONTHLY PLAN
The Motorola V3 RAZR mobile phone is one spectacularly good-looking handset. To start with, it's thin. Very, very thin. Less than 14mm separates the front from the back, yet there's room for a camera and a colour screen on the outside. Flip it open and you're greeted with a much larger colour screen and the keypad, although calling it a 'keypad' really doesn't do it justice.

The nickel-plated copper-alloy chemically-etched keypad (try saying that quickly!) gives the Motorola V3 a distinctly sci-fi feel. Don't worry, it's a classy sci-fi feel - more '2001' than 'Buck Rogers'.

But is the Motorola V3 RAZR all style and no substance? Not a chance. It offers everything you'd expect from a top-class handset, including polyphonic ringtones, a high-quality colour display, video playback, Bluetooth compatibility and quad-band coverage. Battery life is good, there's a built-in loudspeaker and the games are better than average.

You'll also love the way the phone charges from a mini USB lead, enabling you to charge and connect the V3 to a computer at the same time. Innovative and exclusive, the Motorola V3 reinvents the flip phone as a must-have mobile that's genuinely pocket-sized.

The Motorola L6 mobile phone combines the futuristic look of Motorola's RAZR and PEBL handsets with a conventional shape. Conventional from the front, anyway. From the side it's impressively thin, offering a waif-like profile that'll barely crease your jacket pocket. You're almost tempted to take it home and give it a hearty meal instead of just charging the battery.
Despite the slim form, this handset packs a heavyweight technological punch. You'll discover a camera with an auto-timer and digital zoom, enabling you to create your own multimedia photo albums. The camera also records video clips, giving you the option of even more variety.

Bluetooth connectivity is a welcome addition whether you're planning on using the Motorola L6 for fun or for business. You can send pictures to other compatible mobiles, send information to PCs or connect to a handsfree headset. In addition, a built-in loudspeaker offers another type of handsfree conversation.

The whole package is rounded off with a variety of customisable options, including screensavers, wallpaper images and MP3 ringtones. The Motorola L6 has a set of features that won't disappoint - and a style that's stunning.

The Motorola MOTORIZR Z3 mobile phone shares a similar name with its RAZR and KRZR siblings. In fact, the RIZR Z3 also shares the same styling influences. But there's one big difference - it doesn't flip open.
No, the RIZR is a slide-open handset. Give the back a gentle push and the ultra-smooth sliding mechanism reveals the phone's large keypad. Mind you, there's often no need to open the slider at all because you can do almost everything when the RIZR is in the 'closed' position.

Inside the phone - whether open or closed - you'll find a good collection of audiovisual features. Hold the phone on its side and you're ready to activate the 2 megapixel camera. A high-intensity light will help your night-time photos, while the large screen makes it easy to take and review photographs or videos. Music fans will appreciate the Z3's MP3 and AAC compatibility, which is combined with 20MB of built-in memory and an expansion slot to create a versatile portable player. In addition it's easy to transfer files, thanks to Bluetooth technology and USB 2.0 connectivity.

There's plenty of other useful stuff as well, including quad-band international coverage, an email program and PC synchronisation. It adds up to make the Motorola MOTORIZR Z3 a stylish all-round entertainer.

Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) is an American multinational communications company based in Schaumburg, Illinois, a Chicago suburb.

Motorola started as Galvin Manufacturing Corporation in 1928. The name Motorola was adopted in 1947, but the word had been used as a trademark since the 1930s. Founders Paul Galvin and Joe Galvin came up with the name Motorola when their company started manufacturing car radios. A number of early companies making phonographs, radios, and other audio equipment in the early 20th century used the suffix "-ola," the most famous being Victrola; RCA made a "radiola"; there was also a company that made jukeboxes called Rock-Ola, and a film editing device called a Moviola. The Motorola prefix "motor-" was chosen because the company's initial focus was in automotive electronics.

Many of Motorola's products have been radio-related, starting with a battery eliminator for radios, through the first walkie-talkie in the world, defense electronics, cellular infrastructure equipment, and mobile phone manufacturing. The company was also strong in semiconductor technology, including integrated circuits used in computers. Motorola has been the main supplier for the microprocessors used in Commodore Amiga, Apple Macintosh and Power Macintosh personal computers. The chip used in the latter computers, the PowerPC family, was developed with IBM and in a partnership with Apple (known as the AIM alliance). Motorola also has a diverse line of communication products, including satellite systems, digital cable boxes and modems.
